Wang Yanling

Founder of 798 Cultural and Creative Industry

Mr. Wang Yanling is the CEO of Beijing Seven Stars Chinese Electric and Technology Group Co., Ltd. and the Chairman of Beijing 798 Cultural and Creative Industry Investment Co., Ltd. Mr. Wang is a professor-level senior engineer and the founder of the 798 Art District.

In 2006, he served as the CEO of Seven Stars Electronics, and laid out 20 cutting-edge science and technology projects. He has successively obtained market applications, which enabled the company to achieve leap-forward development to be successfully listed in 2010.

After serving as the CEO of the Seven Stars Group in 2010, he comprehensively adjusted the developmental strategy of the affiliated company´s 1977 audio shares, making the company the core supply and service of audio for Tiananmen, the 19th National Congress, the Military Parade at Zhu Rihe and Nanhai Military Parade. The company was guaranteed and successfully listed on the third market on December 29, 2016.

In 2002, under his leadership and promotion, he created the 798 Art District, which transformed the vacant old industrial plant into the world-famous art district today.

In 2018, the number of visitors to the 798 Art District reached 8.08 million, of which more than 25% were from overseas. According to a CNN survey, after the Great Wall, the 798 Art District became the second-ranked destination in Beijing. The number of heads of world-class organizations visiting 798 has reached 131; and annual art exhibitions and brand activities reached 2507.
